Cassetta #5 1914 Liverpool per gli USA

Scatola in legno con sportello trasparente per ruote ed ingranaggi. Comprata in USA insieme ad una 5A del 1913 sempre in cassetta di legno.
Le due cassette si differenziano per le maniglie (esterne e lavorate la 5A, incassate la 5) e per le scatolette delle viti, n. 2 trasparenti la 5A e n. 2 con etichetta chiara la 5.
Le maniglie dovrebbero cambiare nel 1913 come da documentazione di due scatole del 1913 e del ’14 su NZMeccano.
Da questo e da altri dettagli sui pezzi si può affermare che le due scatole siano contemporanee, probabilmente la 5A di 1 anno precedente della 5. Entambe possono essere collocate non prima del 1912 (ruote e ingranaggi con set screw) e non dopo il 1914 (sostituzione delle scatolette trasparenti).
L’unico manuale presente appartiene alla 5 ed è del 1913. E’ il primo manuale in cui le figure dei modelli (uguali a quelle del 1912) riportano le ruote e gli ingranaggi con i collari con la vite, modifica introdotta nel 1912. Altro elemento che indentifica la data sono le Cards Cord dismesse nel 1913/14 di cui ne restano 2 (dotazione della n. 5), mentre di matassine ne restano 4 o 5 e sono tutte dello stesso colore azzurro forte.
Le pale del mulino #61 con 6 incassi sono del 1914, gli ingranaggi e le ruote con la scritta 1911 iniziano nel 1912 e terminano nel 1915, le pulegge da 1″ senza boss hanno 3 fori nel 1914 (erano nate l’anno prima senza fori), le ruote da 1 1/2″ a 6 fori tra il 1911 ed il 1915.
Da tutte queste risultanze si può affermare che la n. 5 è del 1914 e la 5A del 1913, anche se è probabile che siano state acquistate insieme per formare la 6.

Wooden box with transparent lid for wheels and gears. Bought in the US along with a 5A of 1913 always in a wooden box.
The two cassette differ for the handles (external and work the 5A, recessed for the 5) and for the screws small box, n. 2 transparent the 5A and no. 2 labeled clear the 5.
The handles should change in 1913 as the documentation of two boxes of 1913 and 1914 on NZMeccano.
From this and other details on the pieces we can say that the two boxes are contemporary, probably the 5A one year earlier of the previous 5. Both can be placed not before 1912 (wheels and gears with set screw) nor after 1914 (replacement of transparent boxes).
The only manual present belongs to the 5 and was published in 1913. It is the first book in which the figures of the models (the same as in 1912) reported the wheels and gears with collar with the screw, change introduced in 1912. Another element that identifies the date are the Cards Cord abandoned in 1913/14 of which there are 2 (allocation of n. 5), while there remain skeins of 5 and are all the same color dark blue.
The windmill sails #61 with 6 cup depressions came in 1914, gears and wheels with the inscription 1911 begin in 1912 and end in 1915, the pulleys 1″ without bosses have three holes in 1914 (they were born the year before without holes), the wheels 1 1/2″ with 6 holes were produced between 1911 and 1915.
From these results it can be stated that the set no. 5 is dated 1914 while outfit 5A 1913, although it is likely that were purchased together to form the 6.
